    The Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM

The Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for University Students is a program established by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.

Exchange and collaboration with other international theatre schools and academies is an essential aspect and a crucial objective of the studies at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst in Baden-Württemberg. ADK’s participation in the programme Baden-Württemberg STIPENDIUM for University Students, run by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung, recognises ADK’s open, international approach.

With a view to encouraging international exchange among especially qualified students, the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung awards two to three scholarships in every academic year to domestic and foreign students as part of a student exchange (incomings / outgoings) between the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst and our partner institutions abroad. The scholarship is paid for three to six months. Selection criteria include not only academic achievement but also social and intercultural skills.

Students interested in applying should contact the International Office claudia.valet@adk-bw.de

An Open Call with details is listed hereafter.

    Erasmus+ Programme

The European Commission awards the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg with the ERASMUS Charter for Higher Education for the new programme generation 2021-2027 (ECHE).

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for education, youth and sport. Erasmus+ combines the previous EU programmes for lifelong learning, youth and sport as well as the European cooperation programmes in higher education.

The 2021-2027 programme has a strong focus on social inclusion, green and digital transitions and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports the priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, the Digital Literacy Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also supports the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sport.  For more information please click HERE.

    Cooperation with the ERASMUS-Consortium
    KOOR – ERASMUS SERVICES BW

    KOOR – ERASMUS SERVICES BW
is a state-wide institution based at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. Founded in 1975, it is now the largest Erasmus consortium in Germany with 41 partners and is primarily responsible for the management and implementation of the Erasmus Internship Programme, the Erasmus Study Programme and Erasmus Staff Mobility on behalf of its consortium partners. ”

Through the consortium partnership of the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg with KOOR – ERASMUS SERVICES BW, some parts of the administrative handling of the ERASMUS+ programme are taken over by them.

Under the umbrella of the EU education programme ERASMUS+ four mobility measures are funded for outgoing students, lecturers and staff of the ADK:

    Mobility for Students (SMS)
    Internship Mobility (SMP)
Mobility for Lecturers (STA) and Mobility for Staff (STT)

The study abroad programme (SMS) within the framework of Erasmus+ is aimed at students who wish to spend one or two semesters at a host university in another European country and thereby improve their social and cultural skills. In this way, the European Union supports the mobility of students, who thereby become familiar with teaching and learning methods at a foreign university. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the national agency responsible for implementing the programme in Germany.

As student of the ADK you are interested in an placement/internship grant (SMP)? The Erasmus+ programme is aimed at students and graduates who are doing an internship in another European country.

Erasmus supports visiting professorships at European partner universities (STA) which hold an Erasmus University Charter. Through their stay, the guest lecturers should strengthen the European dimension of the host university, complement its range of courses and impart their expertise to students who cannot or do not wish to study abroad. The development of joint study programmes of the two partner universities and the exchange of teaching content and methods should be included.

As a further supporting measure for the internationalisation of universities, further education and training (STT) of university staff (teaching and administration) at European universities and foreign companies/institutions is possible.

For any further questions, please contact the international office  claudia.valet@adk-bw.de (phone +49 7141-30996-11).

    ERASMUS Incomings

Our membership in international networks and partnerships like E:UTSA (Europe: Union of Theatre Schools and Academies) and mitos21 (a European Theatre Network bringing together artists & theatre professionals collaborating professionals & institutions strengthening between theatre & society) help to foster an international environment and can offer interesting collaborative possibilities for international exchanges.

The Erasmus+ programme gives international students and staff from our partner universities the opportunity to participate in a university exchange for up to two semesters at the ADK in Ludwigsburg. Exchange activities require prior preparations such as Inter-institutional agreements (Erasmus+ contract) issued by the ADK and another institution with university status.

For more information about the Erasmus+ programme please click here.

    APPLICATION AND NOMINATION

    STUDENT

Incoming students who would like to apply for an Erasmus+ exchange scholarship should first contact their university international office in order to be nominated for a scholarship place. The international office at the home institution has to contact the ADK and confirm the nomination for a place in the Erasmus+ programme at ADK.

Once the nomination is received, the student will be asked to send the application materials, including a portfolio to the ADK (such as an official nomination from the school with clear indication of the grant awarded, a portfolio consisting of a transcript of records, artistic biography, artistic achievements and photos/videos documenting his/her artistic achievements).
The application will then be processed by the International Office and the Study Office in order to assess which places and study areas are available for the nominated student.

Applications from students who are not officially nominated by their home university cannot be processed.

    STAFF

Teaching and administrative staff from our partner universities who are interested in visiting the ADK for the purpose of teaching or job shadowing (administrative staff) are asked to first please contact their institutions international office for information about the formal process for staff exchanges.

For any further questions, please contact the international office  claudia.valet@adk-bw.de (phone +49 7141-30996-11).

    SELECTION PROCEDURE

When the application documents are complete, it will be forwarded to the selection committee to be assessed. The ADK reserves the right to refuse or accept an applicant according to our admissions regulations. Selection and admittance are based on the application materials submitted, including the artistic quality of the applicant’s submitted portfolio, and also the number of study places available. Due to the large number of applications, advice regarding the rejection of an application cannot be offered.
The applicant will be informed as soon as a decision regarding its application has been made. Please note: application material will be disposed of and not returned.
